

Jon Zazula, the co-founder of influential heavy metal imprint Megaforce Records, died aged 69 on Tuesday 1st February 2022.

One of Lanegan’s most recent collaborations was on a song called ‘Blank Diary Entry’ on Manic Street Preachers’ 2021 album ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament.’ He formed The Gutter Twins with Greg Dulli of The Afghan Whigs in 2003, and he released three collaboration albums with singer Isobel Campbell of indie band Belle and Sebastian. Not constrained by musical genre, Lanegan worked with an eclectic array of artists throughout his distinguished career. It's great to play with, essentially, my best friends." He said of his relationship with QOTSA in the mid-noughties: "My relationship with these guys is one of the most satisfying that I've had. Lanegan went on to guest appear on the Queens of the Stone Age albums ‘Lullabies to Paralyze’, ‘Era Vulgaris’, and ‘.Like Clockwork.’
